Sitting between the Cooper and the Wando, it stays wrapped in humid, mineral-heavy river air most of the year. Outside, we use a water-fed pole fed by reverse-osmosis and deionized water. Regular tap water carries dissolved calcium, magnesium, and iron, and when it dries on glass it leaves exactly the spots you're trying to get rid of. Purified water has 99.9 percent of those minerals stripped out, so it rinses the glass and sheets off clean, drying with no spots and no towel marks. The pole reaches about 40 feet, so the second-story windows on the larger homes in Daniel Island Park and Smythe Park get cleaned from the ground, with no ladders resting against your Hardie plank or gutters. And because we never put pressure on a window, there's no risk of forcing water past the gaskets on an insulated glass unit, the kind of DIY mistake that causes the permanent hazy fog between the panes.

Inside, every pane is detailed by hand

Interior glass gets the traditional treatment: squeegee and solution, drop cloths on every sill and floor, and each pane edge wiped by hand so there are no missed corners in the morning light. On the two-story foyer and stairwell windows these homes are known for, that hand detailing matters, because streaks up high are the ones you notice from the entry. We also pull every screen, wet-brush and rinse it separately, vacuum and wipe the tracks, and wipe the sills inside and out. Interior-accessible skylight glass gets wiped down on the same visit. Screens and tracks are included on every visit at no extra charge, not billed as an add-on.
